Porto de Galinhas Craft Fair
gratuitoThe Porto de Galinhas Craft Fair is on Rua Beijupirá, in the center of Vila de Porto (the village of Porto de Galinhas). It brings together stalls selling souvenirs, beachwear and street food, and suits those who want to buy gifts or stroll at the end of the day without leaving the village center.
There is a permanent section, with covered stalls, and booths set up on the street itself, around number 168 on Beijupirá. They sell bags, hats, beach cover-ups, bikinis, dish towels, paintings, figurines, cups, keychains and the decorative chickens that have become the symbol of the place. Food options include boiled corn, canjica (a sweet corn pudding), crepes, bolo de noiva (a dark fruitcake traditional at weddings) and hot dogs.
The fair normally runs from 14:00 to 22:00. It is busiest at night, when visitors come back from the beach, and late afternoon is quieter for browsing at leisure. Similar items vary in price from stall to stall, so it is worth comparing before buying. See also the Calçadão (pedestrian promenade) in the village center.
