Camboa, also spelled Gamboa, is north of Muro Alto, in Ipojuca (PE), near the mouth of the Ipojuca River and the Port of Suape. At low tide, the reefs form pools of shallow, calm water next to the sand. It suits those looking for a quiet beach and calm swimming.
Getting there
Access is usually from Muro Alto Beach, walking along the sand or by buggy, or by following the road to its end. The waterfront is taken up by resorts and condominiums.
Public access
In May 2026, a court ordered Ipojuca City Hall to guarantee, clear and signpost public access to Muro Alto and Gamboa beaches. New permits must include paths at least 4 meters wide every 250 meters. The ruling is still under review by the Pernambuco State Court of Justice, and the situation of the access points may vary on site.
Facilities and precautions
Facilities are minimal and the beach is almost empty outside high season. Bring water, food and sunscreen, and plan your visit with the tide table to find the pools formed.
