1-day Muro Alto itinerary with children
One-day itinerary at Muro Alto Beach for families with children: a swim in the natural pool at low tide, lunch with shade and restrooms nearby, and dinner without going back to Vila de Porto (the village center of Porto de Galinhas), which is 8 to 10 km to the south. The tide shapes the whole day.
Morning
Check the Brazilian Navy tide table for the Porto de Suape station and arrive at low tide. At that time, a reef wall about 2 km long holds back the water and forms a natural pool right by the sand, with almost no waves. There are very shallow stretches and others where you cannot touch bottom, so children should always stay next to an adult. With a snorkel mask you can see fish. Kayaks, including transparent ones, and stand-up paddleboards are for rent on the beach; agree on the price on the spot.
Lunch
Bar da Praia Muro Alto works as a beach club. In February 2026, the day pass cost R$ 30 per person, with children up to 8 free, and gave access to the pool, showers, air-conditioned restrooms, tables, chairs and sunshades, from 8:00 to 17:00. Food and drinks are paid separately. On the sand, Barraca da Ana offers chairs, beach umbrellas and drinks.
Afternoon
When the tide comes in, the sea can wash over the reefs and the strip of sand narrows. It is time to swap swimming in the sea for the shade, the club pool or the beach tennis courts at Bar da Praia Muro Alto. Reapply everyone's sunscreen and make sure everyone drinks water.
Evening
Muro Alto has no small town center. For dinner nearby, Villa de Muro Alto has Toscana Trattoria Muro Alto, serving Italian food, and a gelato shop. If you want more going on, go by car or ride-hailing app to Vila de Porto.
Where to stay
Summerville All Inclusive Resort runs on an all-inclusive basis and has a kids' club with groups for ages 0 to 3, 4 to 6 and teenagers, plus a children's pool. Samoa Beach Resort has Samoa Kids, with a daily program, a water park and the option of half board or full board. In February 2026, Summerville offered a day pass with confirmation 48 hours in advance.
Precautions
Sunscreen, water shoes near the reefs, a hat and plenty of water. Do not step on the corals and do not lose sight of the children in the water.
