1-day Muro Alto itinerary for older travelers
One-day itinerary at Muro Alto Beach for older travelers, at a relaxed pace: a swim in the sea at low tide, lunch with shade and restrooms nearby, and an afternoon of rest. The water is warm and almost waveless, but there are deep stretches, and public access to the sand is limited.
Getting there
Muro Alto lies 8 to 10 km north of Vila de Porto (the village center of Porto de Galinhas). The most practical option is to go by car or ride-hailing app and get out right at the beach club or beach kiosk you have chosen, because the streets with public access to the sand are few and narrow. Free parking is hard to find: plan on paid parking and confirm the price on site.
Morning
Check the Brazilian Navy tide table for the Porto de Suape station and go at low tide, when the reefs form the natural pool right by the sand. The water is calm and warm, but there are shallow stretches and others where you cannot touch bottom: stay where you feel safe and, ideally, with someone else. Wear water shoes, do not step on the corals and drink water often.
Lunch
Bar da Praia Muro Alto brings together what matters most on this itinerary: tables, chairs and sunshades, air-conditioned restrooms, showers and a pool, from 8:00 to 17:00. In February 2026, the day pass cost R$ 30 per person, with food and drinks paid separately. Barraca da Ana is an alternative on the sand, with chairs, beach umbrellas and drinks.
Afternoon and dinner
At high tide, the strip of sand narrows and the sea can wash over the reefs. A good time to stay in the shade, reapply sunscreen and rest. For dinner without a long drive, TiaTê, at NANNAI Muro Alto, is open to the public by reservation, Tuesday to Sunday, and Villa de Muro Alto has Toscana Trattoria Muro Alto.
Where to stay
Staying in Muro Alto cuts down on travel. Samoa Beach Resort offers half board or full board, and Summerville All Inclusive Resort includes all meals and drinks in the nightly rate. If you enjoy spas, there is NANNAI SPA by L'Occitane, also open to non-guests. Before booking, ask about the accessibility of the rooms and common areas.
