Taxis in Porto de Galinhas operate through taxi drivers' cooperatives in Ipojuca. They take rides within the Vila (the village center of Porto de Galinhas), to the neighboring beaches and to Recife airport, and suit those who arrived without a car or prefer not to use a ride-hailing app.

Two cooperatives are actively registered in the municipality: Cooperativa Rádio Táxi Ipojuca, founded in 2013, with an address on Estrada de Maracaípe, and Cooperativa de Trabalho de Táxi e Turismo de Porto de Galinhas, known as Cooptaxi, founded in 2023. The service is governed by specific municipal laws. In September 2026, the Ipojuca City Council approved the Táxi Turismo (tourist taxi) bill, with optional accreditation of taxi drivers to serve visitors; as of this review, the law had not yet been published.

From Recife airport to Porto de Galinhas, a taxi ride cost about R$ 220 in 2025. Ride-hailing apps also serve the area. Agree on the fare before getting in.
