Antunes Beach
gratuitoAntunes Beach is about 7 km north of the center of Maragogi (AL), next to the AL-101 Norte. It has light sand, coconut palms and sandbanks that appear at low tide, plus bars with chairs and beach umbrellas. It suits couples and families who want an unhurried beach day.

Getting there from Porto de Galinhas
The center of Maragogi is about 85 km from Porto de Galinhas, 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours by car on the PE-060. Antunes is about 7 km from the center, along the AL-101 Norte, heading toward Pernambuco. There are several private parking lots along the road, and some of them are right next to the sand. You can also arrive by sea: the speedboats that leave from Barra Grande stop at Antunes.
Hours and admission
The beach is public and free to enter. In October 2026, parking lots charged from R$ 20 per day in the low season. The shared speedboat that leaves from Barra Grande and stops at the natural pool, Caminho de Moisés and Antunes cost R$ 130 per person, for a two-hour tour.
What to see
Light sand, coconut palms along the shore and turquoise sea in summer. At low tide, sandbanks form that let you walk out into the sea. The beach bars rent chairs and beach umbrellas and serve snacks and drinks.
Before you go
- Tourist visits to Lagoa Azul, a reef area within Antunes, have been suspended by a Federal Court ruling since January 2025, upheld by the regional federal court (TRF5) in April 2025. Do not book tours there.
- The suspension does not apply to the beach or to Maragogi's other natural pools.
- Check the tide table if you want to walk on the sandbanks.
- Since March 2026, a municipal law has banned commercial jet ski tours in Maragogi.
