Serrambi Natural Pools
gratuitoThe Serrambi natural pools form at low tide, when the reefs near the sand hold in shallow, calm water. They are on Serrambi Beach, in Ipojuca, about 13 km south of the Vila de Porto de Galinhas (the village center), and work well for families and anyone looking for a calm swim.
The most popular stretch is Ponta de Serrambi, an area sheltered by the reefs where the Serrambi Resort is located. At very low tide, the pools appear close to the shore, with no need for a boat. At high tide, the waves return and the strip of sand shrinks considerably. So check the tide table in advance and arrive when the tide starts to go out.
Services are limited, with few bars and restaurants on the beachfront. Bring water, a snack and sunscreen, and watch the marine life without stepping on the reefs.
Serrambi is also known for wreck diving, such as the Galeão Serrambi, at about 33 meters deep. That is a separate activity, done by boat with a dive operator and only for certified divers.
