What to see
The museum opened in 2014 in a centuries-old palace in Bairro do Recife and is managed by IDG. The main exhibition, Frevo Vivo, was renewed in May 2025: it starts on the third floor and continues on the ground floor, with banners and flabelos (fan-shaped carnival standards), the puppets of the Homem da Meia-Noite and the Mulher do Dia, immersive rooms with projections, interactive screens with frevo sounds and lenticular pictures with Carnival scenes. The museum offers mediated visits, booked by e-mail, and maintains a Documentation and Memory Center.
