Getting there from Porto de Galinhas
The venue is on Rua do Bom Jesus, one block from Marco Zero, on the same street as the Sinagoga Kahal Zur Israel. From Porto de Galinhas to Recife Antigo (Old Recife) it is about 50 to 65 km, around 1 hour by car without traffic. By bus, lines 191 and 195 run to the Cais de Santa Rita terminal, in central Recife, in about 2 hours.
Hours and admission
Open every day, 8:00 to 17:00, with last entry at 16:30, including holidays. Closed during Carnival, Saturday to Tuesday, on December 25 and on January 1. Adult admission is R$ 35 (October 2026), a price the venue itself calls a promotional half-price ticket. Children up to 12 accompanied by their parents enter free, with a limit of two per family. The casadinha combo ticket, at R$ 50, includes the Embaixada de Pernambuco, another venue run by the same group.
What to see
The puppets are about 2 meters tall and represent artists, historical figures and football players such as Pelé and Neymar. There is a reproduction of Zé Pereira, the first puppet, from 1919, and videos of performances. The shop sells souvenirs and takes orders for custom miniatures. Allow at least half an hour for the visit and photos.
Before you go
The Embaixada de Pernambuco, included in the combo ticket, is at Rua do Apolo, 234, opposite Praça do Arsenal. Ask at the ticket office whether it is open that day before buying the combo.
